When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain -- if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. I felt like a bird while watching this movie. Because this film pries open your gullet and force feeds its slurry nonsense down your throat in the hopes that you will digest it. But even for crop milk, this sludge was stale and watery.

Certainly gets you hooked but lacks a final resolution, which may be disappointing to some viewers. Not the best movie experience in my books, but it can still be satisfactory for many. The actors are great, and the sequel of nerve-racking action definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire movie. Nevertheless, the script should have been worked out a bit more profoundly, in my opinion. The theme is fairly mysterious and exciting, with many depths. It is philosophical and holistic while remaining "mainstream, popcorn-friendly" for "zombie fans." Big thumbs up! However, some work feels undone. It doesn’t feel whole and complete at the very end. Although it is great to leave open endings for viewers, it would have been nice to provide a little framework and insight into different perspectives, like "seers" vs "blindfolded," "bad guys" vs "good guys," etc. We don’t learn much at the very end. "Are we doomed now?"
