Evelyn X @yiyi1111 Dec 13 Interested in the casting of Susan and Kate. And search that the original casting role is Diane, and remember that Susan and Diane appear in some movies together. A woman chose to end her life decently when she could still control her body. Her family came back to the house again to stay with her, company on her last trip in life. It is so heartfelt to see my loved actress act that she loses control of her hand, and still tries her best to behave as normal and decent. I felt sorrow when Lily and her daughters hugged. And hope that the hug would relieve the sore that the people would suffer. I really want to give a hug to Lily forever, just as peacefully as possible. And again, the red dress always looks good on Susan. Why do some people want to end their own lives when they cannot control their bodies anymore? I always thought it was true, as the saying that a poor living condition is better than a nice death. But as I grow up, occasionally, I will doubt that. See more Jeff M @jeffmarshallmovieblogger 02/11/2024 After a rather rough start, this movie starts gaining momentum about halfway through and develops by the end into an often moving and thought-provoking dysfunctional family drama. I am always impressed when a film tackles a controversial issue, in this case euthanasia, in a fair and balanced way without preaching or trying to condone one side of the argument. As the end credits rolled, I honestly felt indecisive about my feelings and what I would have done had I been in the position of any one of these main characters. The filmmakers are also able to throw in a few laughs here and there to lighten the mood a bit - a family dinner toward the middle of the movie being the highlight. The ensemble cast works well together, although a couple of the supporting roles feel very cliche and two-dimensional. Rainn Wilson appears as Winslet's husband, and no fault to him but I just can't see anyone but Dwight Schrute when he's onscreen. The film can feel a bit melodramatic and soap opera-ish at times, particularly a subplot involving Sarandon's best friend.
