The Toro cheerleading squad from Rancho Carne High School in San Diego has got spirit, spunk, sass and a killer routine that's sure to land them the national championship trophy for the sixth year in a row. But for newly-elected team captain Torrance, the Toros' road to total cheer glory takes a shady turn when she discovers that their perfectly-choreographed routines were in fact stolen from the Clovers, a hip-hop squad from East Compton, by the Toros' former captain.

It really is ahead of its time. I still can't think of another teen movie that at least attempts to do the things that it does with cultural appropriation...they could have gone farther...But overall, Bring It On still bringing it 20 years later.

🏆 VEREDITO *As Apimentadas* funciona melhor como **filme teen de sua época** do que como uma grande produção esportiva. Kirsten Dunst e Gabrielle Union ajudam a sustentar a história, enquanto as coreografias são responsáveis pelos melhores momentos. O roteiro, entretanto, é previsível e pouco profundo. É divertido, tem ritmo e possui aquele charme dos filmes adolescentes do começo dos anos 2000, mas está longe de ser uma obra que me faça colocar uma nota alta. **⭐ MINHA NOTA: 5/10**

More product than movie, Bring It On coasts on familiar clichés and shallow characters. It plays like a time capsule of late-'90s pop culture without capturing any of the wit or charm that made the era's best comedies endure.
