While traveling to California to race The King and Chick Hicks in the Piston Cup Championship, Lightning McQueen falls out of his trailer and winds up in a run-down town called Radiator Springs. He slowly befriends the town's odd residents, including Sally, Doc Hudson and Mater. When it comes time for him to leave, the championship is no longer his top priority.

It’s not my most favorite, but my older brother has always loved it (and still does). Cars would always give me something I feel like I should do when it comes to the moral of trophies being an empty cup, but most of the time, I struggle to see it that way. Nevertheless Cars is an okay movie and it’s worth a watch. ♡

Pixar’s Cars (2006) takes a deceptively simple premise, a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic vehicles and turns it into a heartfelt, visually impressive homage to small town America, friendship and the forgotten beauty of the open road. Directed by John Lasseter and Joe Ranft, the film manages to balance high octane racing thrills with a slow, soulful core.
