Critics Consensus

An effective if knowingly silly Stephen King anthology that combines comedy and terror.

King is popular for the same reason McDonald's is popular -- you always know what to expect.

The list of films that genuinely capture the spirit of Stephen King - the darkness, humor, and cleverness that made his books and stories so irresistible - is surprisingly short. But 'Cat's Eye' deserves a place on that list.

The three stories just don't connect and efforts to join them never work. However, an excellent roster of talent does try its best.

Rather than serving as distractions, the self-referential shout-outs fit the overall mix of horror and humor.

Cat’s Eye is pure, bizarre camp with just the right amount of Stephen King’s signature terror.

Anthologies are tricky because often it's 1 or even 2 of 3 that suck and it's hard to place as a result. Some good moments, but the tone and pacing are really out of whack. Love to see a great cat actor though. Like a cross between a chicken wing and "Tales From The Crypt"?

A classic Stephen King Horror anthology. The music is fantastic. It’s a bit short with only 3 stories though. The segment with James Woods Is absolutely great, and hilarious.

You will hate it after ten minutes. I suggest not to waste your time.

I can't remember a movie that made my heartbeat be so constantly accelerated. This movie doesn't let you sleep because it provokes a constant feeling of anxiety in you. That's the reason behind its quality. The three stories were amazing, but the first one is 10 out of 10 for me. The cat "actor" is so good and cute. It makes you really care about its journey and well-being

One of my favorite of King's films. Robert Hays and James Woods are really good in this movie.
