Still, the combination of sharp humor, excellent performances, and genuine emotional warmth carries it. "Well, I think one of our duties as teenagers is to occasionally piss off our parents. " Verdict: A quirky, surprisingly sincere coming-of-age comedy that uses an absurd premise to explore loneliness, popularity, and the importance of simply being heard. Anton Yelchin gives Charlie a vulnerability that makes the whole ridiculous story work.
