Gloria is an out-of-work party girl who leaves New York and moves back to her hometown after getting kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend. When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spiral out of control, she must figure out why her seemingly insignificant existence is having such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.

I'm not sure what the movie was about. Maybe some allegory about abusive relationships? If it had been a better film, I might have tried harder to search for a message. Of course, if it had been a better film, I wouldn't HAVE to search for the message.

Kinda weird. I don't recall this coming out. Hathaway is good as always. Sudekis is... well, I think him being a creepy dork is completely plausible, but he is not threatening at all. The movie comes off as kids working out their kid problems but telescoped through the monster thing (which is interesting if completely bonkers). There are a TON of logical problems, and the characters aren't likeable... even Hathaway's character.

Synopsis
