See more Par H @Parhwy Mar 29 Die Alone (2024) is a 91-minute-long Canadian zombie-adjacent film I saw on Prime in March 2026. Be warned that this film contains, in fact begins with, strong violence. It is not frequent however when it’s present, it’s intense. Most of the film is a puzzle, stitched together by reality, flashbacks, daydreams, dreams, broken by encounters with people other than the two main protagonists (Carrie-Anne Moss (May) and Douglas Smith (Ethan)). I wrote zombie-adjacent because the undead are plant-like though they were once living humans; I dubbed them "zomtrees". Because the film has a Memento vibe, I was unsure of Moss’s casting. The production, stunts, effects, cinematography and even the foley artists did well. Rewatch? Maybe. Recommend? Yes. 6/10. The film never builds tension, never develops its characters, and never delivers anything meaningful from its premise. By the midpoint, the story flatlines completely, offering no emotional payoff or narrative clarity. See more Paul D. @pdecirce Nov 18 Director Lowell Dean seems to be on a streak to become a great horror / genre director. This his latest starring Carrie Anne Moss is a unique addition to the post-apocalypse zombie canon. At its core is a story of how far we can go for love. The first act is rather slow but worth getting through. The film seems to suffer from some pacing issues, as the plot itself could have arranged for more of an epic unfolding. Sometimes creeping, sometimes too fast. If anything the story could have been more impactful in better scene usage, but that's a small complaint. Beautifully filmed and well acted with plenty of gore, DIE ALONEB won't do that as the years should be good this indie gem, even if the ultimate Final Cut seems to slice a little narrow.
