The screenplay becomes scattered, relying on heavy, unfocused dialogue that leads nowhere, and odd moments—like the boy wandering naked through her house—add confusion instead of depth. While the central theme of not wanting to die alone could have been powerful, the execution feels disjointed and empty. The film never builds tension, never develops its characters, and never delivers anything meaningful from its premise. By the midpoint, the story flatlines completely, offering no emotional payoff or narrative clarity. This his latest starring Carrie Anne Moss is a unique addition to the post-apocalypse zombie canon. At its core is a story of how far we can go for love. The first act is rather slow but worth getting through. The film seems to suffer from some pacing issues, as the plot itself could have arranged for more of an epic unfolding. Sometimes creeping, sometimes too fast. If anything the story could have been more impactful in better scene usage, but that's a small complaint. Beautifully filmed and well acted with plenty of gore, DIE ALONEB won't do that as the years should be good this indie gem, even if the ultimate Final Cut seems to slice a little narrow.
