Rachel McAdam's has done so many good movies: The Notebook, Mean Girls, Red Eye, Spotlight, Game Night etc. To me this one is one of Rachel's worse movies ever. Same with Rachel Weisz. Rachel was wonderful in the Mummy movies, Black Widow, and Enemy at the Gates. This one just lacked. Very Disappointing. Also disappointing is how the critics rank movies. Disobedience they gave an 84 % while The Notebook 54% which is loved by so many. For Rachel Weisz Rotten Tomatoes has Disobedience ranked higher than Runaway Jury 73%, The Mummy 63%, and Enemy at the Gates 53%. This is why I never trust critics. I feel they are the most over paid people in the world. They get paid to see movies and give their one sided opinion. When deciding if I want to go to a movie I see what the critics think about it. If they like it I skip it. If they hate it I will go see it. See more Seola T @RT01451483 Jan 28 I’m not sure how to feel about this title. It is uncomfortable, tough, with a bittersweet ending. However, I found the inquisitive take on the religious, orthodox issue interesting. See more Layla M @Wanda638 Dec 21 Disobedience has a strong emotional core and I genuinely thought it was a good film, but it left me feeling... unsettled for a lack of better words. The performances carry a lot of weight, especially in how restrained and conflicted the characters feel within their world, and that tension works for most of the story. Where it started to lose me was the intimacy. Some of those scenes felt dragged out past their emotional purpose, almost crossing into awkward rather than impactful (IMO). My biggest issue, though, was the ending. By the time the film wrapped up, I was still waiting for some form of closure, emotional or even narrative, and it never really came. The story builds so carefully toward resolution, yet it stops short of giving the audience a clear sense of where these characters truly land, which kinda left me frustrated. I appreciate ambiguity when it feels earned, but here it felt incomplete, like the film ended mid-thought. Overall, OK movie. Wish it had a better ending.
