Farah R. @Farah Feb 4 One of the best anthology films I’ve seen in a while. The segments properly fit together into a single narrative, making the film feel coherent and engaging. The characters were compelling even when their stories were somewhat goofy. I especially enjoyed Christopher Lee’s story. If you enjoy Amicus or Hammer style horrors then this is a very fine example. Highly recommended for genre fans and those who are up for some well made retro scares. It's tame by today's horror standards in the gore department but that's more than compensated by the excellent performances and imaginative, atmospheric scripts/direction. An anthology horror which is unusually of a very high consistent standard and whilst I have my favourite all parts are excellent. See more Jay W 11/20/2024 Anthology horror movies are not for everyone. The format feels more like a setup for a TV show than it does for a feature film. But, if you are OK with a film that is comprised of 5 unrelated short stories, then this is an enjoyable horror film perfect for the Halloween season. The movie has a spooky but not overly scary vibe. The monsters range from werewolves and vampires to disembodied hands and killer plants. The movie has a sincere tone, which makes it just the right level of camp. It helps that this film has a cast of horror movie legends like Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Donald Sutherland.
