RJ 05/07/2025 The original Equalizer film with Denzel was definitely a stunner. I feel like this one was a bit of a step down, but not that far down from the original. Plus what makes it not feel like a sequel is the fact that his hair is grown in, in this film. Unless I’m missing something, it just feels like a continuity error throughout the whole movie and that’s one of the smaller reasons I gave this film one star less. Either way? Denzel Washington carried this film and I still loved it. Especially the hurricane sequence. The script is mediocre. The cast is decent. This sequel is uninteresting and predictable. Action scenes feel like paint‑by‑numbers: insert one here, another there… formulaic.
