This is how the stories of escape rooms begin. You barely settle in and it kicks off immediately, and then before you know it you are fed action sequences one after the other and you are holding your breath. The rooms are intriguing, and the puzzles, interesting. With each passing room, we learn more about our six companions. The pacing is balanced neatly right between the eureka moments for the audience and impending boredom. I absolutely loved how Zoey and Amanda were looking out for each other the most because "girls' girls". The characters came off rather shallow. They did not have enough time to develop actual depth. I really adored Taylor Russell's gentle and amiable portrayal of wunderkind Zoey. Overall, this is a genuinely fun watch and it kept me hooked throughout.
