One last heist could finally give them the freedom they're looking for, but with pregnancies, new romances, and obstacles like the relentless Hobbs and a whole new drug lord, this job might just be too big. I really enjoyed the transition of the series here. We still get a glimpse of the street-racing roots, but the franchise clearly begins evolving into something much bigger. Bringing together characters from throughout the previous films was a great way to connect everything we've seen so far while starting something entirely new. The chemistry of the crew works, the action is bigger, and Hobbs is a great addition who immediately changes the dynamic. I'm ready for six! The shift from street racing to a full-on heist actually works, and the team chemistry is fantastic. The Rio setting, vault chase, action, and Dwayne Johnson's introduction make it ridiculously entertaining. It's completely unrealistic, but the movie knows exactly what it wants to be. The physics are insulting, the heist makes very little practical sense and the enormous safe behaves more like a weapon from a cartoon than an object with actual weight. None of that prevents the film from working on me. Rio gives the action energy, the expanded team finally feels useful and the arrival of Dwayne Johnson creates a physical rivalry that makes Dom seem challenged for once. Their confrontation remains one of the most satisfying fights in the saga. The story is basic, but the pacing and chemistry make this one of the few entries I am willing to revisit. It is the moment the franchise becomes something entirely different from street racing, yet it also finds the most enjoyable version of that transformation. The nonsense is no longer an accident. It becomes the attraction. See more Andrew T @RT72355796 Jul 21 This is my favorite movie in the entire franchise. The heist is AWESOME! The story is among the best in the series and it actually makes sense. The sex appeal is GOATED! Dwayne Johnson is just being himself and he fits the role perfectly as the alpha male counterpart to Vin Diesel. The ENTIRE crew is together for the first time. Watching the gang solve problems, get over obstacles, and actually have high stakes is fantastic! There is not enough good things I can say about this movie.
