John K @WQCMI Feb 6 The last good Blue Sky Studios film. John Cena is amazing in the role of our main character, the cast is incredible, the story is magnificent and the comedy is brilliant. Although, its a bit cartoony at times. I'd recommend it. See more Lucas T @LucasTan6769 Feb 1 At first glance, Ferdinand might seem like your typical kids flick with talking animals, but in actuality, it’s a beautiful animated film with a heartfelt, funny and action-packed story, beautiful animation and characters that all get sufficient time to be fleshed out. Something that also impressed me was the pacing. Even though this film is an hour and 50 minutes, it honestly feels like a regular 90 minute film, I think with the extra time they had they were able to have Ferdinand interact with all the characters and in that time, we get to know each character as the movie properly fleshes them out. Overall, Ferdinand is a fantastic animated film and if you haven’t watched it already, what are you doing? It’s available on Netflix. Yeah, it has some childish butt humor BUT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?!?! This is a KID'S movie, people!! Surprisingly, I still enjoyed it as an adult. I think the message about not judging others by what they look like on the outside is very powerful. I couldn't believe how dark the story became at the end! FERDINAND ALMOST KILLED SOMEONE!! Oh, speaking of Ferdinand, I thought that JOOOHN CEEEEEENAAAAAA!!! was great as Ferdinand the bull. His big and husky persona fit the character really well in my opinion. I also enjoyed David Tennant as Angus. Uno, dos, and tres were pretty funny as well. The dance scene with the bulls against the horses was HILARIOUS and AWESOME!!! The music made me want to dance so badly. And, speaking of music, I found the Pitbull song fun too when all the bulls were trampling through the city. The animation is really well-done and so is the action. I feel like Blue sky is a very underrated animation studio. I would advise you to give this one a watch. The film reminds us that true strength isn’t found in aggression, but in restraint and compassion—echoing the biblical truth that God looks at the heart, not outward appearance. Ferdinand doesn’t avoid conflict out of fear; he chooses peace until he must stand up to protect those he loves. When he finally fights, it’s not for glory or self-gain, but for others, and he does it alongside his community. That message resonates for both children and adults. Funny, heartfelt, and occasionally tear-jerking, Ferdinand teaches that being strong doesn’t mean you have to fit the world’s mold—and that love is always worth standing for.
