Set in the iconic Pines, Andrew Ahn's "Fire Island" is an unapologetic, modern-day rom-com showcasing a diverse, multicultural examination of queerness and romance. Inspired by the timeless pursuits from Jane Austen's classic "Pride and Prejudice," the story centers on two best friends (Joel Kim Booster and Bowen Yang) who set out to have a legendary summer adventure with the help of cheap rosé and their cadre of eclectic friends.

With hijinks and true-to-life depictions of sex, drugs, and conflicting personalities amongst the specifically gay male community, Fire Island is a treat full of humor and romance.

Fire Island still triumphs as a playful and sometimes heartwarming movie, even if it doesn’t quite climb out of the sandpit it dug for itself...

Very cute. Your stereotypical wait til the last few minutes for the good ending. Theres definitely questions I still have, but it's still a fun, light-hearted, cute movie!
