The story makes sense and it's a good exploration of the immoral approach of humanity in the pursuit of profit. Yeah, it could've been better, but a decent follow up for fans of the first movie. See more D.A. P @Archives1987 03/17/2025 While I am one for movie sequels- I AM NOT FOR THIS ONE! A long time ago I rented this from the Blockbuster Video in my former hometown and watched it with my dad. After what happened to the dog in the movie- I turned off the DVD- ejected the disk from my player- and returned it. I have only seen the ending on YouTube- and after that- I am glad I didn't waste my time with this. Upon my online research and their stance may have changed- I found out that many pro animal organizations were all over this movie and were horrified after what happened to the dog. Some folks that spoke on the behalf of these organizations went so far as to call what happened in that scene "inhumane" for human or animal characters and I'm in agreement with them. Even though many films say "no animals were harmed in the making of this movie"- this movie takes what happens to animals or humans to a bad extreme. If you want the best sequel to this series- it's in comic book form. "The Fly: Outbreak" comic book series came out in 2015 and is a sequel to this series from Jeff Goldblum and Eric Stolz but the story is better and told in much better form and is comic book graphic violence. It will not be nearly as grotesque. Plus the comic book sequel also tells a part alien like tale that would have been a lot better than this movie.
