In April 1945, the Allies are making their final push in the European theater. A battle-hardened Army sergeant named Don "Wardaddy" Collier, leading a Sherman tank and a five-man crew, undertakes a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Hopelessly outnumbered, outgunned and saddled with an inexperienced soldier in their midst, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds as they move to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

The scenes that attempt to humanize the protagonists, while also portraying the darker side of war, are too contrived. But the raw battle scenes are riveting...but you cannot ignore the script's moral high ground.

Ayer wants you to empathize with the psychological damage war causes those thrust into it but doesn’t let that veer him away from letting you know that none of these characters—apart from Norman to an extent—are likable or remotely good people.

Fury is hard hitting, well acted and keeps the audience watching throughout due to it's captivating action sequences and gritty feel. For what it lacks in character depth and story background it delivers everywhere else. Interestingly with it's star studded cast the focal point is held together brilliantly by Logan Lerman who takes the film emotionally to the next level. Great watch.

Fury is easily one of my top three war movies of all time, maybe #1. As someone fascinated by WWII and armored warfare, I don’t know of another movie that puts you inside the experience of a tank crew this well. The camaraderie, fear, exhaustion, guilt, psychological trauma, failed plans, brutal combat, and ultimate selfless sacrifice all hit incredibly hard. It shows how terrifying armored warfare could be, especially when Sherman crews faced heavier German armor like Tigers and Panthers. There are historical and tactical liberties taken for entertainment, but the overall experience feels raw, claustrophobic, and believable. The crew actually feels like a crew—men who have been through hell together and depend completely on one another. The movie never sanitizes war, and that brutality is exactly what gives the loyalty and sacrifice so much weight. For WWII movies centered on tanks, their crews, and the horrors of war, I honestly don’t know what comes close. Absolutely phenomenal.

Once again, proof that RT is good for nothing… Take note of the critics who gave this anything but a five star epic review…. And you’ll know why I say that. Because this is one of the greatest war films ever made right up there with all the top 10 best. You want to watch it over and over again if you truly appreciate cinema.
