Critics Consensus

Glass displays a few glimmers of M. Night Shyamalan at his twisty world-building best, but ultimately disappoints as the conclusion to the writer-director's long-gestating trilogy.

This may not be M. Night Shyamalan's worst movie, though it's surely his most disappointing.

You have to admire the nerve of Shyamalan for attempting something like this-and indeed, for choosing Glass as the title for a film so unashamedly non-transparent.

With a movie jumping from character to character so often, it just didn't have flow or pacing or tone.

Shyamalan brought something new to the table that is not quite like any other superhero film. His use of the hero, the villain, and the outer forces of power has been brought to life wonderfully.

might find its monologues about comic books pretentious. However, I believe it comes from a genuine love of comics from Shyamalan. [...] Some may dislike it for its overflowing uniqueness, but I ended up quite captivated with it.

B-

Glass unfortunately gets bogged down in overtly precise plot mechanics and not trusting the audience to keep up that it falters in the narrative progression and thematic clarity...

Bruce Willis is solid. As always. The rest of the cast is great. Some odd shifts in tone but overall enjoyable.

It's #3 in the Trilogy and that's the only reason I gave it a 3. Just because i found it too talky and boring other obviously liked it. The last quarter of the movie was good but they killed someone off in a very stupid way. It's just disappointing. I loved the other two, I wanted this to go out on a bang instead of a whimper. The ending just didn't do it for me.

Surprised by the neg reviews. I thought the premise was good and it was interesting to watch. Of course it wasn't unbreakable or split- how could it be. I thought it a decent outing to end the trilogy and it's worth keeping for that reason, b/c the other 2 are easy to add to anyone's collection.
