A man wakes up in a Moscow laboratory to learn that he's been brought back from the dead as a half-human, half-robotic hybrid. With no memory of his former life, a woman who claims to be his wife tells him that his name is Henry. Before she can activate his voice, armed thugs storm in and kidnap her. As Henry starts to understand his new abilities, he embarks on a bloody rampage through the city to save his spouse from a psychopath (Danila Kozlovsky) who plans to destroy the world.

The camerawork is impressively nutty and it moves like nobody's business, but it's ultimately just a wind-up toy, and once it's done going in its tedious circles, there's not much left for anyone who can vote and doesn't subsist on Red Bull.

Hardcore Henry is pure adrenaline with absolutely no interest in taking its foot off the gas. The action is insane, the humor is gloriously filthy, and the whole thing moves with the confidence of a movie that knows exactly how ridiculous it is. It’s loud, violent, wildly inventive, and somehow a ridiculous amount of fun. Not every movie needs to reinvent cinema. Sometimes it just needs to kick the door in and start shooting.

I first watched the movie when I was a 13 year old action obsessed boy, and this changed my view of movies forever. It had just turned into one of those movies that I can watch over and over again. In addition the cinematography is extremely underrated. However I docked it one star due to that scene at the end of the film where Henry is holding a grenade launcher and it just looks like a png. But besides that, 10/10 movie. And the end fight was so peak.

This is easily my all time favorite movie. It's gritty, raw, and very over the top. It might make you a little sick if something shot in 60fps is too much for you to look at . The entire movie is moving very quickly at all times and can was overwhelming for my Mom for example. But if you can handle the high frame rate, and don't mind some mindless slaughter and a brief scene in a brothel. This movie takes you on a ride and you will enjoy it. This movie takes me back to a time when a movie could be ridiculous and just about entertaining you the whole time and nothing else squandering that goal. I wish I could have more. I've seen thousands of films. I recommend this as it is exactly what I want from a movie.

It may make you nauseous but the spectacle of a first person shooter movie is very unique. Is it a ground breaking plot? No. It’s a turn of your brain off and enjoy spectacle type movie. Worth a watch.
