Way too much missed opportunities that "had" to be cut or completely changed to stuff into one movie. Was one of my favorite books which is why I was very disappointed in the movie. See more Bret M. @BretM-3 Mar 20 Yet another solid entry into the Harry Potter franchise! This movie has always been unique and (despite not being my favorite) really cool. The Triwizard Tournament is a very fun concept that works very well in this movie. I also like watching the kids grow up in this movie. Obviously they age in every movie, but I feel like the age growth is very obvious in this movie. I do wish we got more regular Hogwarts things, but that's a small complaint. We're giving up a little Hogwarts time for the epic Triwizard Tournament to shine. But perhaps the best part of this movie is the end when we finally see Voldemort return in the flesh! His dual with Harry is awesome and that dual paired with Cedric's death perfectly set up the tone for the rest of the franchise. Overall, really solid movie! However, I was really impressed with the whole cast and the film overall. I can definitely see why the books and movies were so popular and may have to check out the other movies. I’ll start by saying that I have read 3% of the books. I found them incredibly derivative and unoriginal. I have watched all the films. I have until now found them grand in terms of the world (scenery, action, architecture). Heck, I even enjoyed Harry Potter World at Universal in LA. However, in the years between seeing Goblet of Fire first and now, I have watched Lily and Shaun. IYKYK. Nonetheless, I was incredulous at the story and plot. Not all of it. More the parts where Potter cannot be believed, trusted. Or that we begin with a Quidditch World Cup being terrorised and no one can stop it (there are 1000s of teen wizards there and no security? Please. Oh, and Potter gets accused). Aiyaiyai. I stopped watching this film when Haz is underwater with his glasses on.
