Four pals are stuck in a rut in adulthood: Adam (John Cusack) has just been dumped, Lou (Rob Corddry) is a hopeless party animal, Craig (Craig Robinson) is a henpecked husband, and Jacob (Clark Duke) does nothing but play video games in his basement. But they get a chance to brighten their future by changing their past after a night of heavy drinking in a ski-resort hot tub results in their waking up in 1986.

It may be a generational gap that turned me off, but I thought it was all quite ridiculous and the dialogue worse than coarse. Trust me and not those in their 30s. It is not worth your time.

poorly made movie. it could of been made exciting, but instead it was an immoral, mix of dumb jokes, and poor acting. nothing is funny. even chevy chases scenes are just amusing. ok to miss this one

I am listening to the classic rock radio amstation in my area. They are playing "Home Sweet Home" and I am thankful this movie changed the way this song makes me feel. For that alone, it get 3 stars from me.

One of the greats from a near dead sub genre of comedy movies I will surely miss. At the end of the day, it's just comedy actors having a good time. Once upon a magic time where scripts were allowed to occasionally and purposefully be guidelines and actors were selected to carry it the rest of the way with their own charismatic presence.

It's now sixteen years later, and HTTM has become a genuine Gen-X cult classic. I'm pretty sure that, for more than a few of us who saw it upon it's release, we knew it was destined for a long life of repeat viewing. With that, I'm off to another one.

My favorite movie ever!! It never fails to get me out of a slump and always has my stomach hurting from laughing. This movie is such a masterpiece and I live for the stupidity and nostalgia of it. 10/10 greatest movie
