Based on the popular Tom Clancy novel, this suspenseful movie tracks Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius as he abandons his orders and heads for the east coast of the United States. Equipped with innovative stealth technology, Ramius' submarine, "Red October," is virtually invisible. However, when an American sub briefly detects the Russians' presence, CIA agent Jack Ryan sets out to determine Ramius' motives, fearing he may launch an attack on the U.S.

As an espionage thriller, I must say, it has a tension that runs against the clock like a torpedo under the sea as it outlines its plot of diplomacy and naval strategy in the twilight of the Cold War. [Full review in Spanish]

If I wanted an adventure, film with a really good plot line, that’s still fairly easy to follow, this is it. These Cold War movies just don’t get any better than this one.

If you're a nerd for this stuff, then it's absolutely beautiful. Perfectly casted and an excellent representation of the cold war vibes at the time. Not over the top like todays offerings and just within the realms of believability to get you on the hook and keep you there. Love it, love it, love it. Ps, I'm a bit biased... I started reading Clancy when I was 8.

An absolute must-see for sure! Connery & Baldwin should've won Oscars for their acting in this movie. One of the best Submarine movies I've watched. Definitely recommend & 5/5 Stars!
