Aunque la animación actual supere con creces los polígonos de hace dos décadas (salvando el gran trabajo en el pelaje de Sid y Manny), la cinta brilla por unos valores humanistas que siguen completamente vigentes. Lejos de caer en el sermón moralista, la historia expone con una belleza sutil cómo cada individuo es dueño de su propio destino, capaz de romper con los errores y prejuicios de sus antepasados. A través de secuencias memorables como la escena de la lava o la desgarradora pintura en la cueva, la narrativa profundiza en el altruismo puro. Vemos a un Manny capaz de proteger al hijo de la raza que le arrebató todo, y a un Diego que desafía a su propia manada por lealtad a sus nuevos amigos. Al final, la recompensa no es un logro material, sino la satisfacción intrínseca de ayudar y la creación de una nueva familia elegida. For a 2002 release, the animation is surprisingly strong, with expressive characters and beautifully rendered icy environments that really bring the prehistoric world to life. What makes the film work so well is its humor and heart. The unlikely trio of Manny, Sid, and Diego creates a great dynamic, mixing comedy with genuine emotional moments. The story is simple, but it’s effective, and it keeps a steady balance between laughs and adventure. Scrat’s ongoing acorn chase is also iconic and adds a lot of charm throughout the movie. I’ve never considered Ice Age one of the great animated franchises, or anything like that. But the original is a pretty solid animated film that legitimately does have more to offer children beyond silly antics, such as themes of loss, found family, and caring about more than one’s self, with a group of solid characters. It’s not particularly deep, and the film doesn’t shy away from a pretty basic story with generic storytelling mechanisms, and the cg animation looks pretty dated. But overall, Ice Age is a solid animated flick. Not a classic or anything, but pretty well-done. See more Read all reviews
