Brilliant parapsychologist Elise Rainier receives a disturbing phone call from a man who claims that his house is haunted. It’s entertaining, and the main character is compelling, but this thing was really clunky and scattershot, plotting-wise. There are some good ideas here, but this feels like the first draft of the film. The structure doesn’t make much sense, and there’s weird lack of attention to detail. It’s not a disaster, but it’s one of the weaker Insidious films.

Elisa opens a red door as a kid that held a demon and years later gets called back to her childhood hometown where she discovers her brother's family is under attack. This movie takes place right before Chapter 1 and give a good family history for Elisa. Every time this franchise releases a new movie it ends up further into the further and not in a good way.
