Jacob W @RT17896586 3 days ago As head of the FBI for nearly 50 years, J. Edgar Hoover becomes one of America's most-powerful men. Serving through eight presidents and three wars, Hoover utilizes methods both ruthless and heroic to keep his country safe. Projecting a guarded persona in public and in private, he lets few into his inner circle. Among those closest to him are his protégé and constant companion, Clyde Tolson, and Helen Gandy, his loyal secretary. Directed by Clint Eastwood here Leo De Caprio delivers an outstanding performance. His portrayal and characterisation is amazing and worthy of both the actors talents and the skill of the director. Also that makeup was looking some kinda not real. It is completely not fitting well for the characters. But it is still a good watchable film even with so many flaws. It has a very flat pace story. Nothing is hitting interesting in the middle. It just goes like that only in a flat mood. That is the main killer in this film. But whatever reasons are there it is still a one time watchable film. In an early scene Edgar ask a woman to marry. Later on, Hoover's relationship with the ever-present Tolson is just as friends until Tolson kisses Hoover which leads to Hoover fighting him off. Afterward their "unusual?" relationship carries on. Although he had the goods on all the presidents he served under, criminal elements had the goods on him which guaranteed them immunity The plot is as fragmented as a patchwork quilt. In short, the film is a fake biography and boring as Hell See more thiago s @Thiagostone May 27, 2025 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.
