Critics Consensus

Jurassic Park III is darker and faster than its predecessors, but that doesn't quite compensate for the franchise's continuing creative decline.

The third film is neither as scary nor as serious as the first two. It borrows heavily from its predecessors and the Alien series, and runs out of energy. Go to Full Review

Jackson M @Jackson150 2d It was good I like it how did it get 37 popcorn rating See more Zija R @ZOV1358 Feb 8 The pacing, the plot, the themes, the storyline, the action it was all great! Sure it was short but however it was actually much scarier than any jurassic park movie and also that the actual horror and survival in it is insane but yeah raptors had a lot of screen time but hey good freaking movie man See more Benjamin W. @Code70 Feb 3 An incredibly flawed but entertaining threequel. Overall, I don’t think this movie works. The story isn’t very good, the main parents aren’t compelling at all, and this movie was just so hindered by production and the amount of time they had. But, this is some enjoyment to be had, and there’s something to be said about it not feeling as corporate-driven or overly slick like the newer entries. See more Mitchell S @Mitchstur Feb 2 It's not as well made as the original, but it's still edge of your seat scary. Especially with the Spinosaurus. See more Kyle H. @Kylebh2015 Jan 25 I loved the spinosaurus not as good as the first one though See more Enrique R @EnriqueRamosLovesMovies Jan 18 Jurassic Park III, an absolute blockbuster mess. Listen, the cinematography is fine, the dinosaurs look like action figures made from Kenner. The movie really isn’t about dinosaurs until like 1 hour later on the film. Steven Spielberg was supposed to direct this film, but he said that the first two Jurassic Park films doesn’t need a third one. But, later on 2001, he changed his mind and instead of directing it, he produced it. I really don’t William H. Macy in this. Still, you know, Sam Neill does good as Dr. Alan Grant and Tea Léoni as Amanda Kirby. The plot doesn’t even make sense. Anyways, I give Jurassic Park III a 4.7/10 or a 2.9/5 stars.
