Critics Consensus

Despite some fine performances, The Kite Runner is just shy of rendering the magic of the novel on to the big screen.

Srdjan V @Srdjan Mar 22, 2026 I am so disappointed with the movie. The story from the book is mostly changed. I LOVED the book (☆☆☆☆☆) - it's just enthralling, haunting, overwhelming - Khaled Hosseini wrote the MASTERPIECE. And, the movie is so bad (I would rate it zero, if I could) The director and the screenwriter, obviously, had no idea what they were doing. I doubt they read the book at all, if they did, then they did not understand a single word of it. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Dec 19, 2025 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more I Am F @Creepblaster Feb 6, 2025 Actors are good and it's emotional enough.
