This is one of my favorite action romcoms. I know a lot of people don't like it. I find the near absurdity of the whole situation the best part. It's quite an amazing movie when you watch it for what it is and have no expectations of it being like some major action movie and especially not a serious movie. It's more along the lines of National Treasure, Battleship, or even Hudson Hawk, though not as campy as Hudson Hawk

The plot has good potential but it isn’t explored nearly enough to make this movie remotely interesting. This is just another dumb action movie where you shut your brain off for a few hours, except this one is almost boring.

A terrific pairing of two great actors. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz have fantastic chemistry that makes this movie endlessly fun to watch. The cinematography is beautiful, the action scenes are exciting without being overdone, and the music score fits the tone perfectly. The plot keeps things moving with just the right balance of humor, romance, and spy-thriller energy. I especially enjoy seeing Tom Cruise in roles like this — he brings charm, intensity, and humor all at once. This is one of those films I’ll happily rewatch anytime it’s on. In fact, I’m watching it again right now (February 2, 2026), and it still holds up. Just a genuinely entertaining movie from start to finish.
