June Havens (Cameron Diaz) chats up her charming seatmate on a flight out of Kansas, but she doesn't realize that she will soon land in the middle of an international adventure. The fellow passenger, Roy Miller (Tom Cruise), is a covert operative who claims he has been set up to take a fall. A terrific pairing of two great actors. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz have fantastic chemistry that makes this movie endlessly fun to watch. The cinematography is beautiful, the action scenes are exciting without being overdone, and the music score fits the tone perfectly. The plot keeps things moving with just the right balance of humor, romance, and spy-thriller energy. I especially enjoy seeing Tom Cruise in roles like this — he brings charm, intensity, and humor all at once. This is one of those films I’ll happily rewatch anytime it’s on. In fact, I’m watching it again right now (February 2, 2026), and it still holds up. Just a genuinely entertaining movie from start to finish.

It's a little cringe, it's right on the line between a bad movie and a banger but something about it just clicks better than your average movie. Maybe it's the casting choices, maybe it's the cinematography. Something about this movie is magical.

This movie is at the top of my action/comedy list. Think of Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, but comical. This movie is great from beginning to end. Highly recommend Knight and Day as my number one action/comedy movie!!!

Really well done. Yeah, it is cheesy, dumb and over the top. There is a plot mcguffin like any spy flick, and it isn't anything special. But Cruise generally makes really good movies, and he doesn't disappoint here with a spoof of his Ethan Hunt persona. The movie in no way takes itself seriously, has lots of great action scenes, is fast paced and breezy. You won't learn anything about yourself, but you will be entertained.
