Robert P @Superbad 1d I loved this movie, it's about two guys that are frozen for over 20 years, and then they awaken only to see their bodily fluids are green (like pee) and they go through so much hell to finally get back home! See more 09/20/2021 Talk about being 'late for dinner' In 1962 Willie and his brother-in-law Frank are both running from a crime they didn't commit They leave Santa Fe to escape a land tycoon named Bob Freeman who wants to seize their property to make land development Both of them happen to run into a mad scientist of all things in Los Angeles Willie and Frank are then tricked into being in cryogenic suspension.....and wouldn't you know it they actually wake up 29 years later in the future! Yes you heard that right, these two poor souls actually wake up in another era right out of a science-fiction story Like anybody they are baffled by how much has changed since they've been gone Even Willie's wife, Joy looks the same but with a few years added and she's taken aback by how he hasn't aged a single day The only actors I know in this are Peter Berg of 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Hancock' fame, Marcia Gay-Harden and Peter Gallagher, there's even a young Jeanine Garofalo The movie is all about adjusting to a life long gone and wondering if one can still be had in the present It takes its time so to speak for both these men to come to terms with their dilemma Spends a lot analyzing age, mortality, time passing, moving on, letting go, catching up, falling back into place Yet both leads are excellent playing emotionally-damaged and psychologically-scarred beings immune to time passing along with Harden as a woman who seems to have given up hope The sci-fi element is only a small template for the rest of the story to let the emotions sink in See more 08/28/2020 A very sweet movie. See more camille l @RT76374992 12/07/2014 Si l'idée de faire un film sur un voyage dans le temps beaucoup plus centré sur l'adaptation des protagonistes principaux à leur nouvelle vie plutôt qu'à la recherche d'un éventuel retour à leur vie antérieure est plutôt intelligente et bien traitée dans Late for Dinner, force est de constater que le film prend bien trop de temps à exposer son intrigue et trop peu de temps dans sa deuxième partie, dans laquelle réside pourtant tout l'intérêt du film. Peter Berg et Marcia Gay Harden sont comme d'habitude très bons, tandis que Janeane Garofalo et Peter Gallagher font ce qu'ils font le mieux. Beaucoup de potentiel gâché. See more Read all reviews
