The movie went off the rails with overdone gore and seemed to be confusing grotesque nonsense with scary, mysterious and suspenseful. The gore had been done before and just repeated from other movies. It's attempted shock factor blew up what was a pretty solid retake of the Mummy storyline. Not worth a 50 trip to the movies or the theater run time. Give us something decent Hollywood! One positive is that acting was solid.

It didn’t really feel like an epic “mummy” movie with mythical scenes and pyramids, instead it felt like a recreation of the exorcist or the grudge filled with gory scenes. The plot felt all over the place and forced. Not scary at all.

Whoever says this isn’t worth seeing are the worst critics. This has an ORIGINAL STORYLINE! Essentially three horror genres in one - mummy/exorcist/evil dead. Definitely worth checking out.
