Based R @BasedReviews 15h Movie starts really great. I was very hooked into the story. Unfortunately, some events transpire that make it hard to root for anyone in the movie. Spoilers below as to why that is. Marital tension from the couples kid dying in a car wreck results in the wife cheating with the villain of the movie. The husband eventually "confronts" her about this and HE ends up apologizing to HER, saying he pushed her away and caused it. So neither of them are really worth rooting for now, because he's a weak cvck and she's a adulterous gardening tool. The daughter is a rebellious brat teen who ends up abducted by the psychopath that screwed the husband's wife, after he seduced her as well. She was hard to root for. In the end, the husband and wife end up in a violent confrontation with the villain, and the husband gets his butt kicked and is being choked to death when the wife saves the day by stabbing him. A slow moving, very well acted movie with an interesting plot (esp since it came out one year before the pandemic; a bit foreshadowing?). Casey Affleck did a stellar job with the writing, direction and acting. It is a deliberately slow Movie, but in this very fast paced culture that’s ok, and it’s fits the movie perfectly. I've always liked Casey Affleck and felt he was 10× the actor his brother was. Little Anna Pniowsky was such a scene stealer. The ending and shift in roles will blow your mind. A must watch sleeper. I would not recommend this movie unless you like very slow movies with lots of pointless dialog. The acting wasn't bad but just not not my kind of movie. See more Griffith J @griffithxjohnson Dec 9 The impossible task of a scared father protecting a growing child is emotionally relatable. The subtle & quick editing packs some powerful punches. A slow burn pace with these long strings of dialogue with a payoff that isn’t terribly satisfying. The suspense is well crafted & fear is always present.
