Travis Hurley (Simon Baker), a detective, arrives in the remote outback town of Limbo to investigate the cold case murder of local Indigenous girl Charlotte Hayes 20 years ago. Everyone has heard the old saw that it’s not the destination but rather the journey that matters. That’s certainly the case with “Limbo,” which I found weirdly compelling despite its lack of resolution.

Strong work by the director, writer, and cast. Very pertinent themes here of indigenous peoples being still systemically impoverished, disenfranchised, and refused justice as opposed to what the experience is for the racial/cultural majority. 3.3 stars

An exercise in "progressive " stereotypes. The cop who reopens the case is a tough loner, covered in tattoos. At the end of the day he relaxes shooting some heroin as I assume every reasonable police officer does. When his original unassuming Toyota gets damaged he is almost left without transportation EXCEPT there is an old huge Chevrolet to complete his equipment. The rest of the story and the other characters are as naturalistic. I wasted 47 minutes. There are 61 more to go. Good luck!

Interesting but slow and no ending. Did a good job of showing how bleak it was living in an almost deserted mining town. Simon Baker looks bad with his hair cut off.
