If you're a fan of historical dramas, or if you're interested in exploring queer stories from the past, "Lost and Delirious" is definitely a film worth checking out. See more dave s @RT68722908 07/24/2021 Lost and Delirious is a movie with its heart in the right place, but somehow manages hit all of the wrong notes. Tory (Jessica Pere) and Paulie (Piper Perabo) are roommates and lovers at a private girls' school and all is going well until they are found in bed together. Tory denies anything that hints of lesbianism while Paulie becomes an outcast, unravelling at the thought of never being with Tory again. The dialogue is trite and sounds like it's being read off of tele-prompters by the lead actors. The soundtrack and score never seem to match the scene. The directorial choices are often questionable, including the occasions where scenes slip needlessly into slow motion. On top of all of that, the sword duel at the end is laughable. This is a case of a movie that you really want to like, but leaves you wincing in disappointment. To me, Tori's nonnegotiable U-turn - arguably a lazy screenwriting plot device - remains puzzling and nowhere near justified enough, however Paulie's steely determination is almost heartbreaking. Honestly kinda boring pretty much Pauli is obsessed with Victoria because Victoria is the only one in Pauli life that has actually loved her but when Victoria sister catches them in bed Victoria can't handle it because she doesn't want people to know she's gay or even her parents since her sister caught her so she decided to end things with Pauli and move on to a guy . But Pauli can't handle it because she doesn't want to lose the only person that has actually ever loved her so she starts acting out and does whatever it takes to get back Victoria but Victoria doesn't want her because Victoria chooses her reputation over Pauli so Pauli kills herself the end to be set free because she keeps going back to the "rapture " honestly " Mary " to me personally shouldn't have been in the movie I didn't care about her because she didn't do anything except have a basic story line of my mother died can't remember loves to garden and is the middle man nothing to rave about it for the whole movie disappointed See more Read all reviews
