It's amazing how all our lives are at the mercy of these big financial corporations; many who have lives we can only dream of. Of course, you could also argue they have the biggest risks to take. It never dives in too deep like Big Short (yeah, I understood maybe 10% of that one). There's several scenes with either Sam (Kevin Spacey) or Tuld (the fattest cat in the firm played exquisitely by Jeremy Irons) where they give us the events in layman's terms. What is especially striking about this film is it is still as complex as Big Short, but here you are emotionally involved in their lives, no matter how scummy they are to so many people throughout the centuries. It makes you realize, like Michael Jordan, that these traders are just good at their jobs. We able to see past the dirty work of trading and see them like us. This is the most grounded, unique approach to a corporate thriller I've ever seen. Easily 4 or 5 stars. See more Read all reviews
