Blake- N @PBSAniDom 5d The Last Mimzy is an alright sci-fi family film that has an interesting idea at its core but doesn’t fully reach its potential. The story starts off with a sense of mystery and curiosity, which helps draw you in early on. The concept involving futuristic technology and children discovering strange objects is creative and has some genuinely intriguing moments. However, the film’s pacing can feel uneven, and the explanation of its sci-fi elements becomes a bit overly complicated as it goes on. The performances are decent, especially from the young cast, but the emotional impact isn’t always as strong as it could be. Some scenes feel more confusing than engaging, which takes away from the overall experience. Overall, it’s a passable family sci-fi movie with a good idea that doesn’t fully come together.
