Cinema S @cinema_sensei 21h I love how this movie spends less time worrying about the creatures in the fog and more time forcing us to watch human sanity completely unravel under pressure. Marcia Gay Harden's character infuriated me in the best way possible, capturing how quickly fear breeds mob mentality. It builds incredible, suffocating tension throughout, and that absolute gut-punch of an ending left me sitting in total silence long after the credits rolled. In this movie, there were characters to love and characters to hate but David Dayton played by Thomas Jane stole the show with his performance. Unfortunately, the ending was very depressing and was probably the saddest ending to any movie I have ever seen. Besides the ending, I had a lot of fun watching this film. Just when you think you understand what is happening they throw another curveball. One of the best films ive ever seen 10/10 would recommend. What initially appears to be a straightforward survival story gradually becomes a fascinating study of human behaviour when people are stripped of safety, information, and rational certainty. The creatures create the external threat, but Mrs. Carmody becomes the film's real monster as fear pushes ordinary people toward fanaticism. I particularly enjoyed the supermarket dynamics, the basement sequence, the pharmacy scene, and the escalating tension between David and Brent. The performances and character relationships give the film surprising depth, while the cinematography creates an eerie, claustrophobic atmosphere. The score was effective but didn't stand out to me. And that ending is devastating—one of the most memorable climaxes I've encountered, comparable in impact to The Sixth Sense. A fantastic monster movie that is ultimately about human beings.
