Critics Consensus

Presenting the usual Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis antics but in punchy 3D Technicolor, Money from Home is a respectable outing with the comedic duo that doesn't add many new wrinkles to their well-worn shtick.

Money From Home may not be the funniest of Martin and Lewis' films, but it should still find a pretty large audience and, judging from past experiences, a rather responsive one.

While it's a case of now you see it, now you don't, so far as Runyon flavor goes, Dean and Jerry carry on at the old familiar stand, dispensing gags, slap stick, double takes, songs and grimaces to their hearts' content.

The boys have some amusing and romantic experiences... But on the whole, Money From Home is neither first class Runyon nor top-notch Martin and Lewis comedy.

This is certainly the best Martin and Lewis effort to date. it is the first of their movies to combine real comedy with just the right helping of the boys' long familiar slap-stick.

Lewis' pantomimes and his impersonations of a British jockey are terrific. Martin, in his usual fashion, offers a stabilizing influence to counterbalance the Lewis capers.

Like their other directors, George Marshall's notion of handling Lewis and Martin is to turn them loose and see what comes of it. What comes of it is a repeat of what came of it there, a cavalcade of slapstick which is sometimes funny, more often not.

A lesser effort from the Martin & Lewis team. I'd love to see it in the 3d format. This is the beginning of the shift of Martin taking a back seat to Lewis's mugging and comedy. As I get older I appreciate what Martin does so much more.

This one is pretty stupid (oh joy, more ethnic humor) but the interplay between Dean & Jerry works very well and it's sort of fun in that "brain off" way.
