Every generation, a portal opens up between the Outerworld and Earth. Emperor Shao Kahn (Brian Thompson), ruler of the mythical Outerworld, pounces the moment the portal reopens and slips through with his mighty warriors, intent on total domination and uniting the two worlds. However, he has only seven days to complete his task. In the meantime, opposition grows and warriors Sonya Blade (Sandra Hess), Jax (Lynn "Red" Williams), Kitana (Talisa Soto) and Liu Kang (Robin Shou) get ready for war.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is not just a movie based on a video game, it is a sequel to a movie that was based on a video game. That pedigree should tell you all you need to know about the quality of this movie.

The filmmakers tried to get complicated -- and pay a price. The story lines are obviously designed to link the fight scenes, leading to moments of hilariously bad dialogue.

Truly abysmal film on every level, taking everything good about the first and throwing it in the trash. The actors aren't trying, the fights are horrible and the visual effects a complete failure. One of the worst sequels and movies ever.

A great sequel attempt but more fighting would’ve been 5 stars. Still they incorporated the characters well but I guess the effects of the time held it back. Has great moments for the original MK II fans.

This movie had everything that could've made it good. More iconic MK characters, the original Liu Kang and Kitana from the first one. However, a combination of horrible special effects, terrible acting, and abysmal directing makes it almost unwatchable. To watch it from beginning to end is to be driven by pure curiosity to see if it is really as bad as it is. It shouldn't be allowed to exist.
