No film with divorced parents hits as hard as this one (as someone with divorced parents). I found myself relating to the children, and some moments were all too familiar. I absolutely love that Daniel doesn’t get back with Miranda in the end- it’s so realistic. And it’s true- families can exist in any form, and not everything can turn out perfect. Also, phenomenal acting from Robin Williams- his ability to turn from hilarious to completely serious and filled with emotion is unmatched. This movie managed to be both funny as hell and emotional where it needed to be, and I loved every second of it. Mrs. Doubtfire is undeniably a charismatic character. Yes, there are many iconic scenes, but the constant reliance on exaggerated situations is what forces you to remember them, and that becomes exhausting.
