Critics Consensus

Murder Mystery reunites Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler for a lightweight comedy that's content to settle for merely mediocre.

Murder Mystery's predictability and cliches are comforting - which has entertainment value if you're not looking to be challenged for 90 minutes.

Watching Murder Mystery is a slog, and I still can't comprehend how the same dude who wrote Zodiac wrote this, and oh, did I mention this movie steals one of its final reveals from Legally Blonde?

It's no Punch-Drunk Love, but it's on the better end of the spectrum when it comes to Sandler's streaming selections.

Not all bad. It’s just bad as a murder mystery. What does it say about a thriller if its best parts are not the actual murder or the clues that lead you to the killer, but the squabbling, grumbling interactions of a bored, middle-aged couple?

It’s not fresh enough to be called original and not smart enough to be called a parody.

I'm not criticizing character development or anything like that, I just kicked back... and watched a good movie.

Hilarious for how cliche it is. Love how the actors portray marriage so well.
