Critics Consensus

No Escape's talented cast and taut B-movie thrills are unfortunately offset by its one-dimensional characters and uncomfortably retrograde worldview.

No Escape takes the casual xenophobia of something like Taken, crossbreeds it with something altogether more noxious, then asks us to kick back and enjoy the ride. We don't. We can't. And the ride isn't that great to begin with.

Balls-to-the-walls action thriller 'No Escape' will have you on the edge of your seat for its entire run-time. Though its trailers look genuinely awful, it's one hell of a ride.

"No Escape," the rudderless and violent thriller, can't muster a strong political statement to back up what it's selling. This is a horror film disguised as an expat drama.

A tense survival thriller that wastes little time putting its characters in danger. The atmosphere, escalating violence, and constant sense of being trapped make it surprisingly gripping. The performances are solid, though some character decisions feel frustratingly predictable and the story isn't especially deep. Still, the pacing and tension make it an entertaining one-time watch.

It's a fairly predictable storyline with a few surprises along the way. But the cast and action scenes keep it entertaining

Cannot stand movies when people let multiple other get injured/die just to protect/help them. Their eldest daughter was also incredibly annoying.
