Matt Dillon shows up, the kids lose their minds, and suburbia turns into a powder keg with a soundtrack. This movie has attitude, teenage rage, bad decisions, and enough authority figures to make you root for the chaos. Raw, angry, and still a hell of a ride. The suburbs needed a therapist. The dialogue drips with attitude, the characters are wonderfully combustible, and the whole movie has the dangerous energy of a pressure cooker with a bad attitude. Few movies capture how kids, or people even, actually talk and interact amongst themselves like this movie does. It really makes you feel like you are apart of the community, and witnessing the inevitable downfall of it. This movie dives into the issues that arise when kids ( or people in general) do not feel like they have a purpose, or direction in life. It also explores the tumultuous relationship between generation gaps, including parents and their children. Acting is also surprisingly pretty solid for a smaller budget movie.
