Astronauts Payton (Dennis Quaid) and Bower (Ben Foster) awake in a hypersleep chamber with no memory of who they are or what their mission might be. While Payton stays behind to monitor the radio transmitter, Bower ventures out of the chamber into the seemingly abandoned spaceship. The men quickly realize that they are not alone and that the fate of mankind hinges on what they do next.

It’s basically a zombie movie set-up on an industrial spaceship, a fast-moving B-movie that throws out lots of theories that don’t stand up to the light of reason and then moves on to the next chase and feeding frenzy by the mutant hordes.

While there are plot holes and frustrating points in the movie, it’s an incredibly enjoyable watch. Very interesting plot line. I would’ve loved to seen this film developed into a series- with a possible prequel depicting Gallo’s descent.

I get the feeling, that’s the so called critics didn’t watch till the end. I loved it the first time watching and I noticed a lot of subtitle details on my second watch. Would definitely recommend! Especially to those who are sick of modern day Hollywood slop.

I don't know why so much hate for this movie. Director tried to create a enjoyable movie combining already used elements to create a claustrophobic sci-fi horror story. A very satisfying ending in an story which leaves open theories for an intelligent spectator.
