David S @Teradactyl719 Oct 22, 2026 It makes no sense to continue with these movie sequels. It is too boring to catch anyone's attention. Nothing much really happens and the twist at the end still makes no sense. See more Benjamin W @Code70 Oct 9, 2026 Have you ever watched a Paranormal Activity film, and went “You know what’d make these movies REALLY scary? If I could SEE the activity!”? Probably not, huh? Well, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension seems to think obviously, that’s what everyone wants. Kudos to them for trying something new, I guess. I mean, we are six films into the franchise. But the way they tried to do new things- visualizing the activity- just undermines exactly what made these movies scary in the first place. It was scary because you COULDN’T see what was going on. Like The Blair Witch Project. But out of ideas, this franchise just gave up, and decided to throw all of that out the back door. But it’s also a terrible movie on its own terms. The plotting makes no sense, it isn’t scary, characters almost never make smart decisions, and the VFX aren’t very good. It’s a bad Paranormal Activity movie, it’s a bad horror movie, and it’s a bad movie, period. We’ve lumbered a long ways down since the original. See more Alex B @AlexBioni Sep 30, 2026 GOOOOOOAL I like how this one starts with the end of the third movie and continues the lore, showing the aftermath of Part 3. The ghost camera and other effects are cool. The last 15 minutes are where things finally get interesting. The ghost cam is different and unique, but also kind of stupid and unrealistic. I accepted it and moved on. At this point, I want more from this series. I like the lore, but I'm low key over the formula of going through an entire movie just to get teased with new lore at the end, getting the good stuff, then having it end. The pacing is not good, and I found myself pretty bored. They also don't explain the cult's endgame in detail. We're given hints and expected to figure it out, which is annoying. Even the ending had CGI that could have been better. I'm watching these because I'm already invested in the series, but honestly, it's not a great series. I liked some things here, but this was a disappointing entry. See more Marco L @decatur555 Sep 27, 2026 Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension makes a damaging choice for a franchise built on suggestion: it tries to make the supernatural increasingly visible. Earlier entries created tension by forcing viewers to stare into empty rooms, search dark corners and imagine what might be there. Here, the more clearly the threat is represented, the less frightening it becomes. The mythology expands, the effects become more prominent and the familiar found-footage mechanisms return, but the fear largely disappears. The biggest problem is not that the formula is old; it is that the film abandons the restraint that once made the formula effective. Showing more should make the threat stronger, yet here it does the opposite. One of the weakest entries in the series, and remarkably ineffective for a franchise that had previously managed to make me genuinely uneasy. See more Nathan J @TribianiRamoray Sep 25, 2026 Rated: 4.4/10 ⭐️ I wanted to see how they wrapped up the Tobi storyline. I dislike this; showing the actual demon ruins the unseen mystery that made the franchise work for me. What Worked: • The retro spirit camera is a cool idea for a fresh, glitchy look. • Tying the 1988 VHS tapes to the present brought fun lore connections. • The time-traveling portal in the bedroom was a wild twist I kinda dug. The Friction: • A physical CGI body for Tobi stripped away the invisible dread I loved. • The pacing felt rushed, tossing slow-burn tension for goofy 3D jump scares. • The messy, chaotic ending honestly left me bored instead of scared. Verdict: I dislike this. Watch to wrap up the lore. Skip if heavy CGI ruins found-footage vibes. See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 9, 2026 This is not as good as the first movie!
