Critics Consensus

Though calculated and melodramatic, People Like Us benefits from a pair of solid leads and its rare screenplay that caters to adult filmgoers.

Chris Pine's alpha obnoxiousness, even when deliberate, goes a long way to render this prodigal-son drama unappetising.

It seems ridiculous to dance around plot details when the movie allows the audience to get ahead of the story and to stay there as events laboriously unfold.

Unfortunately, People Like Us just isn't the fulfilling film that it very well could have been.

As if the film's overblown poster art wasn't enough to clue you in, this is pure cornball crookery.

Beneath the prolonged stares and hammy piano score lies an enjoyable, emotive drama.

"People Like Us was released in 2012, and 13 years later, it’s still worth rewatching. Every time I watched this, I’m reminded that there is always another side to every story.

You can't even beat this movie. This one has one of the best Chris Pine performance. Story is heartwarming and engaging and I very much like the ending.

Um filme sensível, forte mais ao tempo um filme doce. Pfeiifer e Pine estão ótimos.

When dad passes, Banks and Pine find out their dad had more than one family. A little melodramatic, People Like Us is still a good watch with some strong leads.

Competently made & acted by attractive actors Chris Pine & Elizabeth Warren, emotional enough, but it just doesn't stand out in the crowd.
