While recent winners like All Of You have proven there’s still juice in the classic friends-to-lovers template, watching People We Meet On Vacation feels more like ordering a sparkling tropical cocktail and getting served tap water. Go to Full Review

A strong supporting cast — Lukas Gage, Molly Shannon, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil and Lucien Laviscount – ups the entertainment value. Since rom-coms have been a bit blah of late, this one will satisfy that itch even if it’s no gamechanger. Go to Full Review

If you put this on, on a weekend afternoon, you will be fine. It is pleasant to watch. But the things that made the book special, I think, are almost impossible to preserve in a two-hour movie. Go to Full Review

People We Meet on Vacation portrays the feeling of exploring the world with people we love and dealing with the painful part of falling in love. It’s scary, but it’s all worth it in the end. Go to Full Review

"‘People We Meet on Vacation’ might just mark the beginning of a new golden age for romantic comedies, at least if sub-genre filmmakers can finally move past stale screenwriting tropes." Go to Full Review

Irene A @irenebarrios 12h So, it would have been helpful for me to know that they adopted a dachshund at the end of the movie. It was your classic friends to lovers film but I feel like they missed the main point of the movie— their wiener dog. And they named him Kenny G which I feel like could’ve been a cuter name personally. And they only showed him twice— once on the floor and once when they picked him up. Honestly I wish I knew there was a wiener dog, I would’ve just fast forwarded to the ending. 3/5. See more Marissa W. @boredDJpanda 15h Predictable but cute. Enjoyed the montages of the places they visit and felt like the acting and chemistry was good. Enjoyable fluffy romcom. See more Andrew M. @amcculley22 1d Wow that was bad. What a waste of time, super corny, not good at all… good sounds track I hope they take it off Netflix See more Chloe M @Chloemann05 2d I LOVED this movie! Full of adventure. So funny but never took away from it being romantic. Full a great personality and songs. Great plot line! I was able to relate to the story and characters! I was pulled in the whole time. 10/10 recommend watching! See more Erik J @EJofLA Feb 9 Sweet actors and sites, but with one life to live and thousands of other movies to watch I would skip this. Just not worth the time...Believe it or not I just saw a blurb about the movie in a magazine and went to watch the preview forgetting I already saw it a few weeks ago. That's how memorable this was lol. Sorry. See more Kivumbi L @i_likemovi3s Feb 8 It was so fun and cute. The colouring, the views, the style, the songs, the actors themselves. It was a nice, feel-good watch. I loved the story, the switch between timelines, and the relationship between the two main characters, which provided a new perspective on the common girl best friend problem in relationships. I found that particularly interesting. The actors did an amazing job portraying their emotions, especially when they weren't speaking. I just enjoyed it overall. The only reason I didn't give this a five-star rating is that even though I loved it so much, I had to give it a second watch the next day. Upon that second viewing, I noticed that maybe it felt a bit rushed? But that's my opinion. Maybe it's because I loved the movie so much, I just wanted more. But overall, I definitely recommend it if you are a romcom lover in need of something cute and a movie which gives you that feeling older romcoms from the early 2000s do. See more Read all reviews
