Dakota P @DaCinephile 3d At World’s End was a fantastic ride that left me yearning for movies where espionage waits around every corner. It felt rare to watch double, triple, and quadruple crossings unfold to the point that I genuinely didn’t know where anyone stood. Again, the visual effects of the Pirates franchise should be studied by studios doing similar work today. The effects in this movie could have debuted last week, let alone nearly twenty years ago. At World’s End also crosses an impressive number of thematic strata, traversing family drama, the complications of love, the question of what code one chooses to live by, and even the ethics of how we treat the mystical. My admiration was checked only once, during the marriage scene, where it felt as though the film needed to make sure two people ended up together but had nowhere natural left to do it. Suspending judgment on that one scene leaves the rest of the film in elite company. A film worthy of representing the franchise as a whole. See more Andrew T @RT72355796 Jul 21 This was not a bad way to end the original trilogy one bit. The opening and closing sequences of this movie was nothing short of spectacular! This movie has one of the greatest final battles in movie history! The only few complaints I would have is it is just a little bit too long and there is some unnecessary moments which could have been left out between when Jack is resurrected and the final battle. It felt as though they were trying to create tension but they had already built it up as much as they could and you were just sitting there saying, “Get to the final battle already!” Still an overall really good movie. If you ask me, they would’ve been better off ending the franchise right here with this movie instead of attempting to drag it on just for the money and not for the creative passion. 7/10 See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 12 This third film rounds off the original trilogy very well. The story is a bit confusing and the film is too long, but it fully makes up for it with Jack Sparrow's charisma and the spectacular action sequences.
