The cast isn’t bad, except for an a one-note Kevin Dillon, they’re just unable to make lemonade out of the paltry lemons the screenplay gives them. The one stand-out is Mike Vogel, who lights up the screen and turns a nothing role into something meaty.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Poseidon" (2006) isn't a great movie by any means. Characters are non existent, and plausibility of many action scenes are again non existent. Yet it is a solid adventure disaster flick with excellent special effects that do hold up very well in 2026. Upon revisiting this movie on 4K UHD disk that I bought I did enjoyed it more then initially in 2006. There are plenty of great actors here that do solid job. Sound design is excellent and at running time 1 h 35 min it never draggs. Overall, "Poseidon" is a fun, excellently staged adventure disaster flick with excellent special effects.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

I remember coming across this remake several years ago or so, and I came with high expectations because of its astounding effects and its source material. This remake suffers from a terrible script with characters that have no emotional bearing due to the lack of character development, and a weirdly impossible amount of explosions that seem to steal the spotlight instead of highlighting anything important. Lucky Larry was pretty funny though. I guess if you just want some disaster and firey action, then you might find a liking to this movie. I can't recommend this movie to anyone looking for anything else.
