After a huge tidal wave capsizes a luxury liner in the North Atlantic, individual survivors (Josh Lucas, Kurt Russell, Jacinda Barrett) band together and traverse a hazardous upside-down maze that they hope will take them to safety. As the wrecked vessel fills with water, the survivors must call on hidden strengths and skills to face the fight of their lives.

The cast isn’t bad, except for an a one-note Kevin Dillon, they’re just unable to make lemonade out of the paltry lemons the screenplay gives them. The one stand-out is Mike Vogel, who lights up the screen and turns a nothing role into something meaty.

I remember coming across this remake several years ago or so, and I came with high expectations because of its astounding effects and its source material. This remake suffers from a terrible script with characters that have no emotional bearing due to the lack of character development, and a weirdly impossible amount of explosions that seem to steal the spotlight instead of highlighting anything important. Lucky Larry was pretty funny though. I guess if you just want some disaster and firey action, then you might find a liking to this movie. I can't recommend this movie to anyone looking for anything else.

Um filme inspirado em fato real, que o navio Queen Mary quase virou de cabeça para baixo. Lembra também o caso de Titanic. MAs as cenas no interior do navio, lembra mais o filme Inferno na Torre. O navio vira de cabeça para baixo, depois de ser atingido por uma onda gigante. A maioria dos passageiros estão no salão de festa jantar do navio. Mas um grupo liderado por Dylan (Lucas) e Robert (Russell)começam buscar a sala das hélices do navio. Com boas cenas que te deixa tenso, bons efeitos e CGI e atuações dos atores. É claro que nesta jornada, vidas vão se perdendo, sobrando alguns. Quem serão? Quem se sacrifica pelo grupo? quem é deixado? Vale apena assistir?: O filme não da para se comparar com Titanic, fica aquém. Mas o filme não é ruim. Nota: 8
