Ted Feb 15 Glad to finally see it. I probably would enjoy it more if I grew up watching it. John Hughes was working through stuff in the 80s. If I grew up watching it like Breakfast Club I don't see it. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Aug 27 Pretty in Pink is one of those classic films that somehow completely passed me by, and I’m honestly shocked I never watched it before. After finally seeing it, I completely understand why it has remained so beloved. I genuinely enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the overall 80s atmosphere. Ducky was definitely one of my favorite parts, and I also loved seeing Annie Potts. The cast brought so much personality to the story, and the relationships felt compelling enough to keep me invested from beginning to end. The directing and screenplay worked extremely well together. The film captures the feeling of the 1980s without making the story feel overly complicated. It focuses on relationships, friendships, social differences, and the emotional challenges that come with figuring out where you belong. What surprised me most was how relatable it still feels. I find the acting very unprofessional and the Blane guy not charming at all. The music is the only thing I recommend. Also, what is that horrible pink dress in the end? A sack of potatoes?
