Phoebe B. @phoebe08 23h It's rare that I go out of my way to watch a romance, but stumbling upon Purple Hearts on Netflix was rewarding in more ways than one. To me, this film was brain candy; a simple, easy to follow plot steeped in emotional richness and subtle political commentary explored beautifully through the hopelessly romantic characters of marine heart thob Luke (Nicholas Galitzine) and feisty singer-songwriter Cassie (Sofia Carson). Although both are endlessly flawed and at times more different than alike, you can't help but root for the young couple from the get-go. I heard this film backhandedly described as a "wet dream for moderates" but, honestly, a little in between is exactly what I needed right now. Not how Elites want to pretend people are or act. Love doesn't make sense, ever, and this is a good example of that. The characters are basic and stereotypical but guess what, thats how people actually are: basic. Nuisance is exceedingly rare. Good acting all around and a coherent script. Its a movie that shows different kinds of Americans can live together as long as they are both smoking hot 10s. The actors embody this roles are Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine. The film tell a story of a girl who do a false marriage with a military for touch money in order to pay for medecines for her diabetes. Purple Heart is a profundly beautiful movie. The plot is very absorbing and the love story is very touching. In my opinion, the photography is really impressive and the acting performance is natural. For me the writing script is realistic and touch our heart with an emotional story. I find, this movie is absolutely incredible. I recommend this film to anyone who loves love story.
